Student Enrichment Committee (SEC)

 

GOALS OF  SEC

 

  • Provide funds at either a classroom level, grade level or entire school level that will enrich the current and/or future student body of Arrowhead Elementary.

 

SEC MEMBERS

 

  • PTA President, 2 PTA Members, Principal, and 2 Teachers (K-3, 4 -6).  Excluding the Principal, committee members may only serve on SEC for 2 consecutive years.

 

PROCESS

 

 

  • Each request is reviewed and voted on by the SEC Members.  The cost of the program and the number of students it serves will be a primary factor in the granting of requests.

 

 

LOGISTICS

 

 

  1. Complete the online SEC Grant Form below or download a soft copy of the form which can also be located in paper form by PTA mail boxes in the office.  Emailed applications are more likely to be approved faster.
  2. If using the online form below, hitting submit will automatically send an email to the SEC chair(s).  If using the soft copy form, email completed form to email Holly Reed reedhollya@aol.com OR place paper copy in the SEC PTA mailbox in the office. (note: it’s easier for us to have it in email).
  3. The SEC mailbox is checked weekly and it should not take more than a week for the committee to reach a decision. 
  4. Deadline for submitting SEC applications is June 1st.

FUNDING

 

 

  • Projects can be fully or partially funded, or denied. 
  • The requestor will be notified via email the status of the grant and the approved amount.
  • If funded, work with the PTA treasurer to get funds - treasurer@ptaarrowhead.org.  In some cases the money will be granted directly to the school and in other cases, the requestor will submit receipts for reimbursement.  The Treasurer will know how to handle the funds.

 

 

APPROVAL

GUIDING PRACTICES

 

 

  • Grants are to be submitted before purchases are made.  SEC will not reimburse grantees for expenses after the fact.
  • Grants must be for activities that take place in the current school year.  Grants may not be carried over into the next year.
